Instructions for Amoxicillin How To Take Amoxil

Do not swallow chewable tablets whole. Crush or chew them first. Make sure to take chewable tablets or capsules by mouth. Stand or sit in upright position and take with 8 ounce glass of water. With water, you may swallow the tablets or capsules whole. This medication can be taken with or without food. ONLY take as directed and always follow the directions as instructed on the prescription label. You should always complete the full extent of your prescription even if you think your condition is better. Ask your doctor if you can stop taking Amoxil sooner than instructed. Do not stop your medication without asking permission.

If you have missed a dose of Amoxil, you should take it as soon as possible. If it's almost time for your next dose, only take that dose. DO NOT take double doses. Make sure there is 6 to 8 hours between every single dose.
